Bandit attack army base in Sokoto state killed 16  of the military men, police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

 The base of 'Operation Hadarin Daji' is situated at Burkusuma town in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto and it is on the edges of Nigeria's line with Niger Republic. 

The assault apparently occurred on Saturday around 4 am leaving nine troopers, four cops (Mopol) and three NSCDC officials dead. 

It was discovered that the bandit overran the base "in extremely enormous numbers". 

The police killed by the shooters are Luka Kabaran, Saidu Malami, Kabiru Mohammed and Majir Shave.

A man has been arrested in Anguwar Doya in Kirfi local government area of Bauchi state, for allegedly raping his three year old daughter.
