Unknown gunmen kidnapped Catholic priest in Umuahia -Abia state

The associate cleric of St. Theresa Catholic parish, Rev. Father Geoffrey Mark Chimezie has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Umuahia, the Abia State capital. 

A source let Vanguard know that the Catholic cleric was adopt  along Enyiukwu street, Umuahia, after he had closed the morning mass at St. Gabriel, Okpururie, Afaraukwu, which fills in as an out-station of the St. Theresa Area.

The gunmen force the Catholic priest out of his vehicle and dashed off in their vehicle. 

"The priest was grabbed along the Enyiukwu street, Afara. He typically goes to St. Gabriel, Okpriurie, Afaraukwu to lead morning mass since Gabriel is still under St. Theresa's parish. 

He was returning when the incident occurred. I couldn't say whether they were sitting tight for him however they force him out of his Toyota Corolla vehicle into his jeep and dashed off. As right now, no one has heard from him or his abductors," the source said. 

Contacted Police public relations Officer, Abia State command SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, said the incident was not yet counted or report to the Police and prompted residents not to hesitate reporting such matters to the Police.
