Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri on Thursday administratered the oath of office on four newly appointed high court judges in the state including his wife, Patience Ama Zuofa Diri. Others are Lockie James Benimo, Simon Warikiyei Amaduobogha and Christine Irigha Kombo-Enegesi. The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Kate Abiri also witness the swearing-in of the four appointed judges. Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has raised an alarm over plots by Boko Haram and Islamic State's West Africa Province (ISWAP) to set up psychological militant camps in his state. He threatened to dethroned any traditional ruler caught aiding or holding onto criminals and asked them not to permit non-indigenes with negative mindsets to settle in their domain. Governor Ishaku stated this on Thursday while signing the N149 billion 2022 budget of the state into law at the Executive Chamber of the Government House in Jalingo. Hon. Rilwanu Gadagau was killed by bandits while he was traveling along the Kaduna-Zaria Highway on December 13, 2021. Bandits have killed a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rilwanu Gadagau, along the Kaduna-Zaria Highway. Hon. Gadagau who represented Giwa Constituency of the state, was the Chairman of the Committee on Local Government and Rural Development in the Assembly. He was reported to have been killed on Monday night by bandits who attacked travellers along the road. The body of the lawmaker was subsequently found on Wednesday morning. EFCC Arrests 3 Suspects With 1,144 ATM Cards At Kano Airport The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested three suspects at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) while attempting to smuggle 1,144 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards out of the country. EFCC spokeman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects: Abdullahi Usman, Musa Abubakar and Abdulwahid Auwalu, were arrested between November 24 and December 1, 2021 by agents of the Kano State office of the EFCC. Upon their arrest, it was found that Abubakar who was on his way to Dubai, UAE, had concealed 714 ATM cards while Usman who was heading to Saudi Arabia, had 298 ATM cards in his possession. Auwalu on the other hand was arrested with 132 ATM cards while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines trip to Istanbul, Turkey.
